Out of the three phones that exhibited the FM problem, the filters only fixed one of them.

You are on the right track. If the filter fixed one phone what is it about that phone that is different than the other two? Also, are we correct in assuming that the other phones are not new 18D's and thus don't have the problem?

Six phones. Three 18D phones, belong to the partners in the law firm, three 18D phones used by assistants. All the phones have the problem, but Murphy dictates that it is worse in the partner's phones. Six button Partner phones work fine, as does a 2500 series analog phone, and a Polycom conference phone.

So it's in the digital stream, I don't know why the difference in the 6 button verses 18 and I don't know if this will work, try putting your filter on the data pair.

You are all over the place with your troubleshooting and logic. I really don't care who the phones are being used by, just the facts.

Lets stick to the 18D that the filter fixed and why that didn't work with the others. What's different about them?

Had the same problem with an iwatsu phone system 15 yrs ago. all sets with 6' handsat cords no problem, 12' just a little bleed over, 25' could only hear radio station. tried lots of coils, chokes, resisters, it was a call to the radio station engineer that fixed the problem. The problem was with their equiptment. If they don't have an engineer you might check with the FCC.

If they don't have an engineer...

All stations are required to have an FCC 1st class licensed technician present at all times. This would be the "engineer".

Pencom makes a good point, call the station and ask for their help.
