Fell into some major work in the programming arena. A new customer has Merlin Legend 7.0 I think. How do I program the available keys on each phone to be specific extensions. Most of the phones are MLS18D & MLS34D. I went with Feature 00 just like the Avaya Partner process but didn't get much further when the phone would beep and flash "ERROR".
I wwant to program either intercom ext and ring ext the same as with a partner when you program INT-XXX it will ring the extension but if you program INT-*XXX by adding the star it becomes a voice call.

I have downloaded a manual, it is 1068 pages.

Thanks in advance my friends.

Are you sure the phones are MLS 18 D's and 34 D's?I didnt know the legend/Magix could use the Partner phones?

The models I am use to seeing with Legends and Magix are the MLX 5 to 28 button displays and non-displays and the 4400 series of phones.

Check your model numbers. I dont think that the MLS series or the Euro partner style phones will work if it is a Legend KSU.

I am almost sure they can't be MLS Sets - only the Euro style work on the Legend using the 016 ETR Card. If they are MLX sets...MLX 16D or 28D use the soft keys to program. Hit menu, more, program, start, button to be programmed, list, auto dial, inside, ext #. (or something pretty close to that order)

Magix can use Partner sets with a ETR card installed.

Definately Euro-Style Partner phones operating from 016ETR cards. I was surprised when I first saw them myself. Throuout this office there are some MLS and some Euro's and 4400's. I was gonna start with the MLS phones thinking it would be the same on the others. I'm in a mine field aren't I!!!

Your programing can be done at the console or through your PC. On the Magix I prefer the PC.

Have you ever programed a Magix or Legend and do you have WinSPM software?

At the phone, press Feature 00. Press the button to program, dial *22 and the extension number. Continue with the next button, or Feature *00 to exit.

Voice or Ringing depends on if you use SA-Voice or SA-Ring to make the call

mdaniel- This is my first experiance with a legend. I was doing subcontract cable work in this office when I found this system with lack of programming. Apparently system was installed by clec and they did as little as possible for the customer. To make a long story short these are good people in this office and they deserve better service.

I know what your are saying there grider. We run into that a lot around here also.

Like I said I always do all programing on Magix thru WinSPM.

But TTT has a way to do it from the phone. If I can be of any help, let me know.

Hope all goes well,

I don't have WinSPM, yet. If customer is willing to pay I'll get it but for now this problem exists.
I am trying to simply program a key to be an extension key on MLS18D phones operating from 016ETR cards. In the office there are 19 of them.

Procedure:
1 Feature 00
2 The key to be programmed
3 *22 xxx (3 digit ext #)
4 Feature *00

This procedure coincides perfectly with advice from TouchToneTommy and also from a page in the manuual..

At the end of step 3 I get both the error message on the phone and the error sound alert.
