Hi,
I had a couple of questions about the Merlin II. I am very familiar with the Classic Merlin systems but not with any higher versions. I am planning on buying a Merlin II. The one I am planning on buying comes with the following:

Processor with FM2
One (1) 408 Module
One (1) 400 Module
4-Line CO Protector and AC Power Surge Protector

My questions are:

I saw on ebay a Merlin II being sold with a 408 GS/LS module installed. I was under the impression that the MLX telephones could only be used in Legend systems. If I were to buy a 408 GS/LS card for the unit I am potentially buying would I be able to use MLX phones with it then?
Would I be able to use the 408 GS/LS/ID to have caller ID display on something like a MLX-10D?

What are the differences between the Merlin II and the Merlin Legend? Is the Merlin II just an earlier verion of the Legend?

What are the differences between the FM2 proccessor and release 3 (if any).

Thanks very much in advance, I've searched all through the Avaya site and the Merlin II manuals with no luck.

Hi
Could complete your profile.

There a 2 GSLS cards one supports Merlin sets and is an ATL card.

The other is a MLX for Legend sets and is used
with the legend.

Many old Merlin II systems were upgraded to
legends with a processor card and some cases a power supply.

You would need the partner number from the processor to know if you had either.

I not sure if MerlinII had caller Id or not.
someone else will probably pop in later .

The MerlinII is a pretty old system and if your paying more then fifty bucks it is too much .

My .02 cents

I have had the chance to play around with a couple merlin II's around here and a merlin legend as well.my advice would be to go with a legend.Has more modules you can add and can also use WIN SPM which is pretty convienent. Also has the capability to use partner phones if you have the modules to use.

Merlin II = No CID.

Go with the legend you will be much happier.
Hope this helps.
