I have a partner ACS 3.0 and just installed a remote access / backup and restore PC card. I'm trying to connect with the avaya software and I can dial in just fine until it asks for the password. I don't know it. I go to program the password (via extension 10) and it's blank. Any effor to change the password fails. If I try to enter no password in the software it rejects it. Any clue here? Thanks, Matt

The password must be letters and not numbers. I could see using the ledgend magix software for remote programing but the ACS system dosn't really need it. Most of the programing can be done with someone over the phone.

Letters and or numbers. Refer to the table for Extension Name Display on how to enter them. Hint: the number 2 would be 2+0,the letter A would be 2+1, the letter B would be 2+2 etc. You must press "enter" to save it. Refer to your documentation.

#730-42-32-53-53-63-Enter.
On an 18-D, Enter is located in the 4th column, 3rd button down.

TT Tommy, Thanks for that. I'm used to programming with the 12-D, and a few months ago it died, replaced it with 18D, and yes, the enter button is not where I remember it to be... sorry.....
So I set the password and I can get in now. When I try to "retrieve system information", it makes it about 90% of the way, then the software said it is corrupted (forget exact error message) and aborts. I can set the time, but can't do anything else.
Any clues?
Thanks guys! Matt

The Partner doesn't like your modem. I had the same problem with a Conexant modem. Usually US Robotics, or modems with Lucent chips in them work fine. I also have a Xircom PC card type modem that usually works well.
