A couple of Inter-Tel systems were posted, dont forget the Inter-Tel Axxent also has caller id routing.

I have seen this used once in a business setup. A company had "area reps" that would handle calls based on what part of the country you were calling from.

It works very well in a home application. Especially for crank callers. Just route that number to a nice friendly greeting telling the caller......well you get the idea.

This brings up a good point. In a home application, just front-ending all calls with an auto attendant will take care of most of this. That's what I do at my house, and I get NO telemarketing calls. I do have an option that says "all solicitors, please press 2", which politely says "Thanks for calling, Goodbye!". smile

I think Comcast might use something like that.

If you can program wildcards, then you can place calls starting with a particular area code to a speclized rep team for that area or market.

Many companies have a desinated service rep for an set area of the country.

So did Samsung remove the CID routing feature?

Man I am late in the game on this one.
Telrad and the ImaGen voicemail have had CID routing since release 5 almost 10 years ago now. The only hitch is the CID if not on a T1 or PRI would need a MLX82 unit connected to a COL card.
