Hi I got a new MLX 408 ID card and when i installed it and turn the system back on the system went dead all the phones was dead too. Dose that measn i have a bad card?

Hi What i did first was turn off the system and took out my old mlx 408 card and replace it with the 408 mlx ID and turn the system back on .
For the cards i have
MLX 408 408 for classic merlin phones and 12 ring gen just 3
Now when i put the new card the system turn on but the phones were dead

re power down make sure the card is well seated and then do a board renumber it will reset the cards i think if its still dead i would put the old one back and if your system comes back up might be your card

As stated on your tek-tips post....ONLY do a board renumber if you are going from an MLX card to another MLX card.

BOARD RENUMBER STEPS
USING SPM AND ADMIN PORT ON SYSTEM OR MAIN CONSOLE MENU -> SYSTEM PROGRAM -> START -> SYSTEM -> BOARD RENUMBER
WILL FORCE THE PROCESSOR TO REINVENTORY THE CARS IN THE CABINET. SYSTEM WILL HAVE TO BE IDLE FOR RENUMBER TO TAKE PLACE. SO LUNCH HOUR OR AFTER HOURS IS BEST GOOD LUCK
