I would like to know more about this as well. We have an R (release 7). Considering Avaya upgrade or migrating to Cisco. (I hope I'm not hijacking this thread) I just spent several hours with a Cisco vendor and visited another business that is migrating from a Definity si to Cisco. The Cisco looked pretty good.

Lou, I have never done a vi, but have done si's and R's. Pretty easy process, if you are going multi connect. But I am not sure how much longer that option will be avaiable. IP connect is the standard going forward, but is more costly and required new G650 carriers. I suggest you contact an Avaya Business Partner in your area and they can assist with the upgrade. You can find a local business partner here: https://mywebtools.avaya.com/bplocator/start.swe?SWECmd=Start Richard, Good luck with your job search.

Good, My client doesn't want a 100% migration to VOIP but is wanting to move slowly into it.They enjoy the functionality of both the anolog and the digital sets from the definity;however they want to try out the IP set funtionality along with the unified messaging.

Richard, I could not open the site for the local business partner. It is giving me a strange window.
Thanks Lou

If the link doesn't work, goto avaya.com and click "find a business partner".

ldancer - If you are trying that link within a Firefox window it won't work. You will have to use a IE window. I haven't bothered to view the source code for that page, but Avaya has obviously done something that only IE will interpret.
