I now "own" a Partner ACS R3 system that has been ignored for a long time. So of course, everyone wants changes before I can even read the manual. If anyone can help with a couple a questions, I'd surly appreciate it.
First, I have a 3x8 base unit and an unused 2 slot carrier. What is the cheapest way to add a few more extension ports? Nothing fancy, just cheap.
I also wanted to have only the receptionist’s phone ring with each incoming call, and if unanswered, ring at all remaining extensions. Is it true that I can only ring through to one extension at a time which has been placed in a Hunt Group?
Next, I need to connect the two Contact lines to a computer interface. I know that I could use a CC Adjunct and use the relays to drive an interface board, but since I’m building the board anyway, the CC Adjunct is really overkill. Does anyone know the pinouts on CC Jack before I drag a scope into the closet?
Finally, is there an east way to get a system dump/listing showing every thing that has been programmed for each extension?
Thanks, now hack to reading the manual.

To be totaly honest. It would be money will spend to contact a local Avaya Business Partner in your area to help you out and set your system up properly to fit your needs. THat system will do a lot for you if set up right.

Thanks, I understand your point.
I don’t doubt that hiring a pro would be money well spent, but it would also require money they don’t have, or would have to come from the kids’ budget. I’m doing this Pro bono and if I can expand the system a little, I’ll be paying for that myself. They get new digs next year and hopefully a nice new phone system, so until then it’s only me. I’ve gotten a number of things fixed already, so I’ll have to just keep plugging away for now, but thanks for the consideration.

How many lines and how many stations? Sounds like you just have the one Processor Module, right?

If you are willing to pay for expanding the system yourself why can't you afford to spend a few dollars for the services of a pro? There is nothing wrong with that system, I see no reason for a "nice new phone system" later, the Partner will do everything they need. You will actually be saving money by getting advice from a pro who knows how to make this do what is needed instead of assuming things yourself like it will need to be replaced later.

The system currently has one Processor Module and is loaded with 3 lines and 8 stations.
I've got most things working now and the Contact Closure feature is really cool. I'm now able to drive an embedded WEB server from the phones.
I never thought about keeping the R3 because they really need more VM and the new location is supposed to have a phone system already installed. They were also told the R3 was too old and not worth upgrading, so they've lived with the system as is until now.

The R3 software can be easily upgraded to R6 level. You could add a 012E module that will allow you to add 12 more extensions to the system. Any Avaya Business Partner in your part of the state can do this.
