Received a call from a company by the name of A-Tech Cabling Co out of Farmers Branch Tx to do some repair work in my area. Has anybody ever heard of them or done any work for them. If so was it good or bad. Thanks in advance Tony

Just those that I have experienced "the hard way" and the ones mentioned in Hall of Shame here. I am now in the habit of asking for references that I can verify before working for a new contractor.
I also will not sign away my right to lein and otherwise protect my company, after all if you don't get paid it doesn't matter how much they were paying.

Just so you know. The "business address" listed on the DOT Page is a 3 bedroom 2 bath house built in 1968 and is valued on the tax rolls at $128,270. It's owned by David Hemstock. Hemstock has no criminal record showing, or civil suits other than a divorce in 1993. He does seem to move around a lot.

(We also own an investigations firm)

Lol, thanks guys. I've been doing investigations since I was 18 or so. Add that to a tech and telco background and that's how we got into TSCM (sweeping for bugs and wiretaps).

As for the youth, if it was stolen I'd look for someone with a motive. Hmmmm. How about Ev :>)

Could he not wire you a deposit to your bank account? Visa can always get reversed, but even a Western Union check is real money.

Don't know where you live, but here in CA if you have a valid CA contractors license you can do a stop notice up to 20 days and the owner of the property is liable to pay it.

Had a little car rental agency who told me they would pay me when they felt like it. Sent a Stop Notice to the building owner who told the agency they had 24 hours to pay it or she would take it out of their security deposit and evict them. Had the check the next morning. Nice to have a real contractors license.
