We have a Partner Mail VS R4 system at my office and today it lost power for about 30 seconds. When it did come back on is seems to have lost all of its settings. As soon as it was on all the phones rang when a call came in and it rang on all lines, all sorts of crazy stuff. Right now I think I have that somewhat tamed, and can work with it more in the future.
Two things that puzzle me:
1) When a call comes in it appears on two lines. One you can press to answer, the other gives you a dial tone. If you are the caller and you hang up before it’s answered, the dial tone line light stops blinking but the actual line it came in on rings a few more times before it stops.
2) when a call comes in the system plays a “transferring to receptionist†message then does so before playing the menu prompt. The manual’s only suggestion to make sure the VMS extensions are assigned to Hunt Group 7. (exts 32,33) They are and I still get no menu prompts. I also read the systems can be without power for 4(?) days before loosing their settings. Did it loose them anyway?

I apologize in advance, I’ve never messed with a phone system, I did a ton of manual reading today, but I’m still kind of ignorant on the subject. I’d appreciate any support/suggestions.
