I have a partner messsaging rel 7.0 soft. ver 7.0.42 w/2port card in a 5 slot carrier partner acs 7. about half of the time when caller dials 22 it says ext 2 is not valid this also occurs on other extensions. If you dial very carefully it will go thru ok. are their any adjustments to this? This happens on cell phones as well as land lines. Thanks MW

Does it happen on inside calls (Press one of the Intercom buttons and dial "22")?

If this happens on extensions 20 and up ,I'm
thinking a conflict in your attendants like you
say Press 2 for sales and also is 2 for ext 22

I'm thinking a failing TTR - unfortunately, there is no procedure for testing TTRs in ACS - there was a way with P+ and PII.

Also, log into the serial port on the Messaging, and look at the event log.

I think KENB is right. Selector code 2 set up for something like submanue and if you dial with pause its working if you dialing fast it would not recognized second 2.

You can't have it both ways. Either 2 is a direct extension transfer or it points to a specific extension, announcement or submenu. So the "dial with a pause gets you extension 22, fast gets you 2" doesn't hold water gents.

I'm with Tommy, failing TTR. What that means Carolinamw, is your Messaging R7 needs to be replaced. Is it still under warranty?

Thanks guys, I will check out these ideas.. There are 8 loop start Bellsouth lines about 1 mile from the CO. System is under warranty. I will test for inside dialing. Tommy: Are the TTRs located in the Messaging Module? Also can I view that log over the network connection with the Avaya software or do I need to go in thru the serial port and what software do I view it with?
Thanks Mike.

There are TTRs in each module, and they are a shared resource. In the Partner + and II days, 206 modules had 1 TTR and 400 mods had 2. They are used in Odd/Even sequence. So you would load up a system with an uneven number of TTRs, resart the system, and then you could test with a S/L phones paired with a multiline. Once you developed a pattern of failure, you knew which module was bad.

They never developed a procedure for testing on the ACS - it's complete trial and error.

Connect through the serial port on the Messaging module - you'll need a 355A/AF adapter and Hyperterminal. I'll PM the login. The error log may or may not reveal anything.
