Good afternoon! I have a Legend r7 and was wondering if i can have the operator at ext 10 transfer calls to certain trunks. The system is setup in keymode. If this is possible can someone explain? I only want the operator to do this so that the hunting lines don't get tied up.
Thanks

You need to allow trunk to trunk transfer. This will only work on GROUND START TRUNKS.
I think you will have to change from key to hybrid.

You can do Trunk to Trunk transfer in any mode Key or Hybrid. You can do that on Loop Start trunk as well the only thing you have to program for Loop trunk is to have Reliable Disconnect Enabled.

one more quick question... my main number is not hunting all of the sudden. I have moved some of the lines around in my switch. Does it matter how they hunt other then my main line being trunk 801? I'm stuck here waiting on bellsouth and was trying to see if it's something on my end.

My guess is that you recently switched your dial tone provider. Hunting is ALWAYS a feature provided by the local service provider. Most charge a monthly fee for lines to hunt on a per-line basis. My suggestion would be to have the local provider verify the presence of this feature on your lines and require that they test/confirm that it's actually working. Sometimes, what their records incicate and what is actually happening are two different things.
The only exception to this is if your incoming calls arrive via an ISDN-PRI circuit or via DID trunks. If this is the case, then you are going to need someone with technician-level experience on the Legend to help you. This is definitely not something easy to program.

You could have moved the lines around and pulgged a line into a port that does not ring, thus giving the impression that it isnt ringing.

I really didn't move any of the wiring. I had some lines removed from the hunt to use as direct lines. I was just worried that I needed to remove them in a certain sequence to hunt correctly.

If the lines that you had removed from the hunt for private lines are still appearing on buttons (you did indicate that the system is set for key system mode), this may be your problem.
For example, let's say that you took lines 8, 9 and 10 out of the hunting group through the telephone company. Assuming that the telephone company got the order right, these will become three independent lines with no hunting to another line.
IF this was done correctly, you'll need to make sure that the appearances of these lines are removed from all stations except the ones that use them when operating in the key mode. If this isn't done, then anybody can select "line 10" for an outgoing call which effectively ties up that private line.

ev607797, I did set up each extension to default to their own personel line that was removed from hunt when placing calls.I also checked the main line after hours when noone was on the phones and still went busy. Thinking about that, do u think I might of done some incorrect line assignment on the console to cause the number not to hunt? Thanks for all your input.. As you can see I'm still up racking my brain on this...

You can't cause an incoming line to hunt through the phone system. This is a telco feature, period.
If these now-private lines are engaged in a conversation, then these lines are busy. There is no way for a second call to arrive to the numbers associated with these lines. The exception to this is to have the second call hunt to telco-based voice mail, call waiting signal or to another telephone number.
There is absolutely, positively no way for a standard POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) line to function otherwise. Unfortunately, I think that you might be seeking something beyond these limitations. This is a very common request and we have a difficult time convincing people of this reality.
Again, there's nothing you could have done in programming that would cause a line to be busy when dialed on this system. If the lines test clear, as in dial tone received on them from their private appearances, then your work is done. If the numbers associated with these lines can't be dialed without a busy signal being returned (when not in use), then your telco has messed up with the order. This is not uncommon, so it's worth asking them to double-check.
