Hello All,
I am trying to program our Switch, Communication Manager 3.0 with the EC500 feature. I am able to get everything to work using the new EC500 as opposed to the xmobile feature. The problem is I cannot seem to have the off-pbx cell phone advertise our companies number. I made test calls from the cell phone to internal stations and everything works well. The caller ID shows up as the internal extension which is fine. However, I need the cell phone, caller id to show the company's number when I make calls to the outside world and not the 10 digits cell phone number. I will really appreciate it if you or anyone else can point me to the right direction on how to make this happen.
If there is a way to have the cell phone grab an outgoing ISDN/PRI trunk from our switch so that the call can appear as the company's number, that would be great.
Thanks in advance.
Spoty.

Thanks to anyone who is intending to post a reply to this. I finally got it to work. I need to specify a DID trunk and use trunk 1 instead of ars. Everything works well now.
Thanks

Sorry about the self service Spoty. I think everyone has been busy this morning and didn't get here in time. Glad you found your way and ... welcome to the site!

Sorry to revisit this. Is there a way to make the EC500 Cell phone user enter a security code after calling into the switch and getting a trunk before dialing out?
Just a thought. Thanks for any help in advance.

Are you using the remote access port to get dial tone?

Actually no. I did an off-pbx-station mapping and then did an off-pbx feature-name-extension to specify a DID number in the "Idle Appearance Select" field. This enables the cell phone user to first dial into the switch with the DID number, get a tone off the PRI trunk and then place a call to wherever.
However, we have a long distance code already defined in Communication Manager so, if this user needs to make a long distance call, the system is going to prompt him for his long distance code. What I am bothered about is the possibility of an hacker or someone that knows the DID number, using this and then getting access to our switch to make malicious calls since the Caller ID of our company will be advertised if this ever happens.
So, I am thinking of forcing the cell phone user to enter some sort of security code after they dial into the switch before completing any calls either local or long distance. I am sorry if I have confused you further. But I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Not at all I use EC500 myself and I have alot of users using it as well. I however restrict users from doing what you are attempting to do. For two reasons. Cellular minutes are cellular minutes. What you are doing will cost you 2 phone calls. The only savings would be on international calls. Also toll fraud. Every extension on your 'cha off feat' page should be non DID's. You are asking for trouble using a DID there. If you want secuirty use the remote access port. You can set that up as a DID and program a barrier code. Much more secure.

Yes. All extensions are not DID numbers. However, the "cha off feat" is a number from our DID pool but, truncated into an extension on our switch. I stand to be corrected but, I think the user still needs to dial into the switch in order to get an outgoing trunk in order to make a call which will advertize our company name to the recipient.
We are a financial intsitution that also deals in Mortgages and Real Estates so, we need this feature for our Real Estates folks. But if there is a way to implement a barrier code on this method, I would like to learn how that works.
Thank you for your time.

I don't think on the 'cha off feat'. Using a DID there sounds like a bad idea. Play around with remote-access. 'Cha remote-access' or you may need to first 'enable remote-access', if it is not enabled.
