Can someone please help!!!
At work some of the phones,(stations on a Definity/Intuity Audix system) can't retrieve voice mail messages.
It goes like this:
user dials voice mail number
dials extension number and password
Next, user is asked to leave a message for that extension number instead of retrieve stored messages.

All configurations settings match the phones that are working properly.

Any sugestions?, please advice.

Thank you.

It would help if you told us what Avaya system you have as well as what Avaya messaging system. Without that information I have no idea what the problem is.

As the POST States:

"(stations on a Definity/Intuity Audix system)"

I have to pretty much disqualify myself on the AUDIX, but it just sounds to me like you have a problem with some mailboxes.

That is, I think they are BROKEN somehow.

Any INTUITY Experts out here?

As you will notice the first post was edited to include the switch/mail. It wasn't in the original post.

My guess is the these users have a password that is the same as the guest password. When loging in, the system assumes they are leaving a message. You will need to change their passwords so they can get back into their boxes.

Then have them change their passwords to a numbering system that doesn't allow for the same number of digits as your extensions. That will solve the problem.

We use guest passwords for various applications but if someone changes their password to the guest password, this exact thing happens. I've learned from experience on this one.

Definity/Audix was not in the origional post. I would suspect that your extensions in the definity dont match the extension is the audix. You need to first verify that your extensions match. If not change them so that they do, then goto your system monitor in Audix and call each extension and verify that Audix will answer in order.
