2 Questions:

(1) Does anyone know what type of port the IP Office 500 uses as there is no info anywhere that i can find unless theres a psecial website i can't find, that tells you what type of audio MOH port it is. Everything just says there's and audio input port for MOH.

(2) Is there any programming that needs to be done and if so what are the exact steps and all that jaz that you need to do to program MOH to be active or does it have to be done via computer.


I hope its already pre-programmed from the factory and also that its either RCA or 1/8" jack for MOH.

1). The external music port is a 3.5mm port marked "Audio". Just plug the music source in.

2). The only programming that might need to be done, is under "system>telephony the is a tick box for "use external music on hold".

When you plug the music source in at any phone you can press *34 and it will play the moh.

Ok thx that helps a whole lot. But as far as the programming: to enable it do you have to use a computer to do so or can you use any one of the phones they have coming off that system? *34, is that for playing the MOH over their handsets or speakers on the phones itself or what?

*34 is to play the music over their phones. You shouldn't need to do any programming to enable it. Check the "Use external music on hold" just prevents the unit from trying to load the file internally.

Right, if you can press *34 and hear music, then all is well. If not, then someone will need to check that tic box.
