Yep, direct lines are what I want. The last guys that were in here said that we weren't set up for it right now. How hard is it to have the system converted?

Another question. We have 12 phones total with 8 lines available for calls and 2 dedicated fax lines (10 total). Is this system capable of programing direct phone numbers to each phone? It's a feature we will need to implement at some point, however I'm not sure if the system can do it.

Thanks again.
It sounds like you are wanting DID's. And yes the Partner can do DID's across a T-1. But you would need to contact your local Avaya Business Partner to help you get this set up for you.

Thanks,

You can also use Direct Inward Dial (DID) lines with a Partner if you have spare CO or station ports and a device like this:
https://www.multitech.com/PRODUCTS/Families/CallFinderDID/
Data sheet here: https://www.multitech.com/DOCUMENTS/Collateral/data_sheets/86002055.asp

The device supports 2 DIDs though you can add more to the Partner system as long as you have more ports.

Basically, you map each DID to an extension number in the device and setup other parameters.

If you have spare station ports: When a call comes in the device grabs a station port with Automatic Line Selection (ALS) set to Intercom and sends touch tones for the corresponding extension.

If you have spare CO ports: You will need an Automated Attendant (AA). Technically, an ASA/DXD card would work but I think someone with DIDs would also want voice mail covering incoming calls. When a call comes in the device generates a ring and then sends touch tones for the corresponding extension.

I hope this helps. I should probably add: I am not connected with the manufacturer in any way, I don't sell these, this isn't a solicitation, and it could be that other companies make similar devices.
