I just received a new 3910 cordless. The unit does not link with the base unit. Does the base unit need to be connected to a system to have the phone link to it? Or does it link without connection to a system?

I never gave it a thought. I have always had them connected before I powered the base units up. What's the problem with conecting it to an extension port and finding out for yourself?

I'm pretty sure you need to have the base connected to the phone system first.
But I'm like Hal. We always do that first.

I was trying to test the unit before I go on site. But I don't have any 016ETR mods. Thanks anyway, I'll figure it out.
