Does anyone know how to restrict a user from changing their greeting in a mailbox. This application is for a hotel/motel. Owner would like to put a global type of message in the mailboxes

Merlin messaging

You can't do it. Merlin Messaging is not really the best choice for Hospitality. BUT, I would set the minimum password length to 0 digits, and when a guest checks out, go into Sys Admin and reset the mailbox, then log back into it, recording "Room 101" as the Name, and # as the password. This will make the mailbox work again, the guest will not have to record a name or greeting, but they CAN if they want. They will also be able to dial voice mail and just dial "##" to log in.

Touch Tone Tommy,

Thankyou for your reply !!!!

The owner/customer does not want the user vm greeting changed at all but be able to get messages.

it is to bad we could not go in and erase the prompts so the user does not hear how to change your greeting but just listen to messages (like samsung)

Thanks again !!!

Dennis

I know it's already a done deal, but if you are looking to install a hotel/motel from scratch, look at DuVoice as the voice mail. Integrages perfectly with Lenged/Magix or Partner (and a bunch of other brands, but I'm an Avaya guy), and has mailboxes just for hospitality guests - check in turns on the mailbox, check out wipes the box for the next user, they can't change the system parameters, etc.
