If you thinking of buying the S8720 you need to get your order in before August 4, 2008. https://support.avaya.com/japple/cs...p;temp.bucketID=147386&PAGE=Document The S8730 will replace the S8720 but the S8730 requires you to use CM5.0. With CM5.0 you are forced to purchase Software Support (SS) or Software Support + Upgrades (SS+U). These are both expensive depending on how large your company is. My advise is to upgrade to CM4.01 with the S8720 while you still can.

It can't be secure. After all they closed down the North Andover Plant and moved Jobs to France.

You can lock them down tight, but it needs to be done at the install and not find loopholes afterwards. If you have Avaya or one of their business partners come in that install it "Right" for you, it will be OK.
The servers are not the problem. It is the same things that have always been. Toll fraud from trunk to trunk transfer being enabled, easy passwords (Hackers love them), remote access, and not getting the "FREE" security checks from Avaya's security group.
