Is there a user level feature code to turn on/off ringing line preference - so you don't have to press the line key to answer the call, you just pick up and you're connected?
A customer called saying that is just stopped working. I always thought that was automatic when you program a line to ring.

No. This is the receptionist. She now has to press the line key to answer the call. I figured she must've inadverdently dialed a feature code to shut it off.

I'm not on site. She just called it tin an hour ago. As far as I know the lines are still ringing on her phone. She would've called in that complaint if not. I'll give her a call and get more details.

NP. The only other thing I can think of is.........would see have a N.service button on her phone at x10 that is turned on or maybe have her phone forwarded to someone else?
If none of the above. Have them unplug the phone from the wall jack and wait a few seconds then plug it back in. I have seen some Partner phones act like DND is active for no reason. And this will clear that.
Check the line programing first. Then if you need further help feel free to give me a shout.

No, there is no way to turn off ringing line preference other than what has been mentioned. Those things would also result in the extension not ringing. Since the extension does ring but you still have to select the ringing line button I would reset the system. Make sure the AAA batteries are good (might be a good time to change them) then pull the plug.

Good tips, Hal and Dan. Thanks guys. I'll have one of my guys check it out. I'm sure it's something simple....unless I just jinxed it by saying that!
