Customer wanted a doorphone for alert from the entrance to a retirement home. The "ding dong" was set to alert 4 phone extentions, but the nurses at night carry the cordless phones around. Since they are simple analog units plugged into the bottom of the partner phones, they do not alert when the doorphone is activated. They do not ring. Setting a hotline for the doorphone allows only one extention to ring and they need three. I cannot figure out how to make the cordless phones ring off their host partnerphones when the doorphone is activated. Any ideas?

Loop a station to a CO port, put the CO on the phones, restrict it to incoming only, give it a different ring tone, then make the doorphone a hotline to the station that is looped to the CO.

Thanks Tommy. That probably will work, but the Doorphone makes station number 9(ext 18). No spares. Is there someway to send the hotline to a calling group? It would not let me send ext 18(the doorphone) as a hotline to 71(group with all necessary stations assigned).

What about getting a cordless (or corded) base station with three or four remote handsets? They are readily available in office supply stores from recognizable manufacturers like Panasonic, Uniden and VTech.

Thats a great idea dagwood. That will allow me to hotline one Partner phone extention after hours and have the multiple cordless handsets ring off of the one base attached to the Partner set.
