I have a customer with this system with 4 18d sets and two analog cordless. The trouble started last week, all the lights go out and it looks like the system is rebooting. No calls are lost when the phones are functional again per the customer. The customer plugged the card into a UPS and it still does this about as often as before. I was on site this morning and naturally no apparent trouble was found. Is this one of the new 7.0 cards that needs an upgrade? Could the power supply in the card be going bad already? This customer has no warranty or maintainance with anyone. Has anyone a suggestion for a place to get this repaired? As I have pretty much stopped system repairs I no longer have any spare parts so am limited in what I can offer these folks right away.

That's a problem with the processor I'm afraid. If they had purchased the system from an Avaya Business Partner there would be a 3 year warranty and it would be replaced at no cost, or maybe just a service call charge depending on when it was installed. So you really do get what you pay for.
I certainly would not be thinking about having it repaired, I doubt anyone is capable. You are looking at a replacement at this point. Hopefully they will learn something here and this time deal with a Business Partner.

It is possible that they did get it from a Avaya business partner, the corporate weenie that installed it is checking on that.I should find out what they want to do in the morning.

I don't think flashing the processor would help that problem. Sounds like they just have a bad one. Have you checked the S/N.

The corporate folks did have a warranty from their BP. They should have a new ACS on site today. Apparently my rates are too high as they say they want to do the change out and will restore it from the back up card themselves. Good thing I backed up to that card yesterday since it had never been done before then. Thanks everyone for the help. I'll post back if they screw it up.
