I messed with this some time ago and now we had an incident with a threatening phone call so I have to get it back up. I get a red and green light alternating. My status cdr says it is down. I can hyper into the 8400 data module and get an at ok. My netcon channels work as I can go into the switch using netcon and have checked connectivity on the TN726 to the TN753. I'm on a 2 wire digital port. I status my data extension and it shows in service idle. Any clues?

In the hotels we serviced, I had 1 that could NOT be fixed by remote. Take it out of service, put it back in, no help. BUT, If we took it out of service, disconnected the serial cable, put it back in service, and reconnected the cable, in that order, away she went! Sometimes just pulling and reconnecting the port cable would clear the problem. But it ALWAYS required a site visit until we got several front desk folks 'crosstrained'. Maybe that's one of the reasons I was sooo happy to retire! John C. (Not Garand)

Tried that and no luck. I plugged a phone into the phone port and it is ringing and the green light is dark, the red one stays lit. When i hyper the ata command to have it answer, I get no carrier.

I typed this in AT&C1&D2&S0=1&W0&W1&Y0S24=1 powered it down and then up, ran the test cdr command and it passed and now my data is rolling along on the pc, thanks for the help and I hope this helps in the future, BTW during this process I did change digital ports, maybe my port was bad but it's easy to test it with a phone.

It would be best, to get the CDR out over CLAN now. Thats the direction Avaya has been moving in for the last 6 to 8 years. I moved ours over about 2 years ago, and it hasn't had the first problem.
You could have ran the "busy data xxxx" and then did a release on it. That may have returned it to service. Sometimes the data modules get hosed up and the busy out and release clears it.
