Let me start by saying that I've been programming Nortel ICS systems for several years but I haven't touched a Partner/Legend/Magix system in 6-8 years so I'm beyond rusty.
I have a Merlin Magix, freshly reset to factory defaults. I've downloaded what documentation I can find on how to program it but the one thing I can't find is where/how to hook up the "Operator Console" which I understand is the telephone I use to program the system. On a Nortel ICS I can program the system from any phone but based on what I'm reading, the Merlin has to use a designated station.
Please don't suggest that I program the system from a PC since I don't have the software and the Aux port on the controller card is broken. Ah the joys of buying used equipment sight unseen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You program from a 4424LD+ connected to the 1st port on the 1st TDL station card. It doesn't hook up any differently than any other extension, TDL's are a single pair, so that would be the Wht/Blu from the block.
If you are using MLX extensions instead of TDL (doubtful, but possible on a Magix), your programming phone will be a MLX-20L, again connected to the 1st port on the 1st MLX card, this time using 2 pairs to connect to the modular jack on the card.

As a follow up question, are there any features/parameters I can't program from the console? For example, T1 PRI interface, voicemail, auto attendant, etc...
Thanks!

You can do it all from the console, but the software is easier, and you can pull reports and look at how things are set up.
You say the Admin jack is busted? There is an internal modem that you can connect to for programming. If you have a TipRing card you can plug your modem in directly, if not you can call, answer, and transfer yourself to the internal modem.

Unless it's locally powered, you'll also need the brown pair (in addition to the blues and greens) for an MLX-20L.
