I have a Legend end user with an MLX-5D who wants to change a Last Number Redial Button to a Call Forward Outside Number Button (they dial 9 on intercom to get an outside line).

Not being a Legend expert, I don't know if this is a button change an end user can do ala Norstar or is locked to technician programming ala Toshiba or Samsung.

I'd appreciate any help, thanks, Bunnie

To change to a Forward button, the use will press Feature, dial 00, press the Redial button, dial *33, then Feature and *00.

You can't imbed the outside number on the button, so it's Forward, 9, the telephone number, and #.

The extension must also be allowed Remote Call Forward in system programming. Try it first, if they get an error when dialing the 9, post back.

The button is changed but when he presses the Call Forward button and dials "9" to set the number he gets a fast busy or similar tone.

Any good suggestions that are easy?

If necessary I can hire someone to dial in remotely, if something simple I would rather tell him and not cost him anything. Nice guy.
