Me and my big mouth. How hard can it be? I went on site to assist a client make some simple changes on their Partner voice processing system (v1.3). Literature states to dial icm777 (I actually programmed a hunt button for this but tried both ways anyhow), and press 99# to enter admin programming. Keep getting a prompt from voice mail "Invalid entry" or something like that. Tried it from ext 10 just in case but still I can't enter programming through a phone. Is there a program that locks administrators out of voice mail?

Depends on which voice mail you're dealing with.

Sounds like you have documentation for a Partner Mail VS, but actually have Partner Mail, Partner Messaging, or Partner Voice Messaging.

Tell us exactly what you hear after Intercom 777

99# is correct for the Partner Mail VS. If the voicemail is a Partner Voice Messaging or an Avaya Partner Messaging, use 0#

(Oops, TTT posted just before me). wink

We will need to know exactly which VM you are working with.

Partner Messaging (Circuit Pack)
Partner Voice Messaging PC card. (PCMCIA card in control unit)
Partner Mail (The one that looks like a computer)
Partner Mail VS (Circuit Pack)

Might throw this in also, did you try 0# as the admin extension number?

true! I was able to get an administer prompt when dialing 0# HOWEVER - even after that when I would dial an extension number (I tried 10 through 17) it still gave me an error message. The voice mail is Partner Voice Messaging PC card. (PCMCIA card in control unit)

0 and the password gets you into the admin mailbox. The extension # and password will get you into the individual mailboxes.

When you are in admin check and make sure how many mailboxes exist (between 2 and 16) and you can also reset the mailbox passwords in the admin box.

This card may be so old that it wants your mailbox number (1 through 4) instead of extension number.

Listen carefully to the prompts - it might be requesting mailbox and password, without any # signs (so you would dial something like 1-1234)

Could be a PVM R1, the first one they came out with. Does it have a purple label on it?

no purple label. I am entering programing using 0# It is asking for mailbox but no matter what I put in it says invalid entry. I get to the prompt where it instructs me to press 6 to reinitialize a mailbox password and no matter what I put in for a mailbox (I have tried 10 with and without #, I have tried 1 with and without #, I have tried 1 1234) all I get is invalid entry. It is a rev 1, that much I know.
