Do you know which Merlin system you have? There are quite a few different Merlin systems. You will need to get this information from the control unit itself. We will also need to know which phone models you have. This is usually on the upper-right hand corner of the front face of the phone (ex: BIS 10).

Aside from the system specifics, explain what you mean by "continues ring on interoffice paging".
Do you mean an intercom call? If so then it is normal for an extension to keep ringing until answered or the caller terminates the call- unless there is voice mail coverage. Then it will ring for the specified VM coverage rings unless there is DND activated.
Then there may be a calling group.
So what are we talking about here?

With the Merlin Legend & Magix (and maybe other versions) you can program an Intercom button to either ring an extension or cause an extension to "beep" once and then activate the speaker phone so the originating person can talk.
Anyway, please post which Merlin system is being used.

It's a Merlin 410 system and the phones are model 206. We want the intercom to ring an extension once and activate the speaker phone.

We have system 410 w/ feature package 2. We had to reprogram the intercom for changes in personel, offices, etc. Prior to reprogramming, we would access our own phone with intercom button, hit programed button to person needed. The phone would buzz ONCE to that person's desk. Now, after reprograming, several of our phones (we have 9 and all aren't doing this) will buzz, buzz, buzz continually until either picked up or caller hangs up. To program, I slide T/P button down, access line to program, enter *6 and phone #, slide T/P back to center. It's a mystery. Am wondering if I turn off the entire system (unplug the box in the closet) for maybe a total reset? and totally reprogram everything. A pain to do and am concerned all phones will start the multiple buzz. Any suggestions.

Hey, just reviewed cvrbob's message and think I have resolved the problem. The green light was off on several phone's intercom. Think that this has fixed the problem!! Thanks a million. The stress level in this office just went down 10 notches.
