We have a Partner ACS R1.0 Processor that has never been upgraded. We are using Avaya 18D Series 1 phones that have the 2 line backlit display. I am wanting it to display the Caller ID phone number and name at the same time. Right now we are just using Feature code 16 to swap between the number and name. Can I upgrade the software for it will display both? I went onto ebay to look for an upgrade card. There is a guy that sales a multi-use card to upgrade to R6.0B. Or would it be better just to purchase a newer processor that does this? If so what revision started showing the caller id and name simultaneously during ringing?
Thanks, Jonus

As far as I know there is no upgrade. F16 is the only way.

I do very little Partner programming myself, which is why I won't post responses to such questions unless I've personally delt with the issue or, at the very least, done my homework by properly investigating the problem. I don't know how far back the two-line Caller ID feature goes, but adding a "Feature 16" button is NOT the only way to display both pieces of information.
For example, page 106 of the Partner ACS R7 Installation, Programming and Use Manual clearly states "You receive both the caller’s number and name on a two-line display telephone (system phone) while the call is ringing."
There are a LOT of very seasoned Partner people on this board. Keep looking for updates to this thread as I am sure you'll find the answer you were really looking for.

Name and number are displayed simultaneously starting with the R6 if I remember correctly.
As far as a software upgrade of this system, I gave you my answer in your other thread.

Jonus, I apologize for giving wrong info on receiving simultaneous CID and Name on Partner ACS. Dagwoodsystems and Hal corrected me and gave you a right answer.

No, actually you are right. Technically you are not supposed to upgrade an R1. So if he doesn't replace it F16 is the only way.

Thanks for the answer on both threads. I wasn't for sure if I upgraded to R6 if it would give me the options I was looking for or if I actually had to buy a R6. Thanks for all the advice. I'm going to follow Hal advice and actually going to go ahead and buy a R6 because of the age of the R1.
Thanks, Jonus
