I have recently replaced my Panasonic phone system with an expanded Partner ACS R.7 509 (4X18). I am aware of the partner door phones that look like they would be installed flush in a double gang junction box. Is there an alternative door box for this system that is a surface mount type as I don't want to cut into the stucco/stone on the house? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The Partner door phone (manufactured by Bogen) can also be surface mounted using that same box.

Unfortunately if you want it to look nice it should be recessed. The surface mount option is not something I would want on the front of my house. By a loading dock door maybe, but not there. There are other alternatives to the Partner/Bogen such as Viking that may be easier to recess because of the single gang size as well as being more suited to a residential application. -Hal
