I have read about the upcoming release of the ACS R.8. I spoke with a BP in Houston today and he told me he had 50 of the new R8 processors and asked if I would like one. Has anyone received the new processors yet? I was under the assumption they wouldn't be out until April.

From what I heard is that they aren't out yet, but you can update the r7 to be an r8. the software is avaiable. So my quess is that he has a bunch of upgraded r7.'s

I asked the Avaya BP about the upgrade software and He didn't know when it would be available but said these were new "R8" processors. I currently have an R7 in each of my residences and one in my office and I would like to just upgrade them instead of replace them. They are all less than two years old. Does anyone know of a source for the software upgrade yet?

I told everyone over a year ago the R8 was coming.
Wait till it gets to possible 96 stations. It will be like the partner II with two cabinets with lot's of new features. The second proc will have it's own power supply. It's a good seller and always will be so the ip will migrate.
Where will this aplicationbe used? School classrooms or small hotels. It will be a giant intercom system with lots of zones and and new call pickup with audible alert in a page group pickup.
Like the Merlin 820 that gave a pre tone alert.
We will have pre tone alert for page groups and auto pick -up in groups. The lights will have three colors when flashing for the pick up per zone. White- red and green and multi flashing colors for group pickup when a zone goes unanswered.
Oh I forgot I was dreaming over the rainbow.
I did find a a leprechaun under the bridge with my box of gold so I killed him on a sunny day to get these features for the ACS!

It would be nice if Avaya would double the size of the Partner and make a Partner to IPO upgrade path.
To kinda take up the slack where the Magix left off.
