I have a customer who dials numbers super fast. So fast in fact it took me awile to duplicate the problem. He dials while the phone is on speaker and it sounds like the system is not recognizing the digits dialed. This is a partner acs 509 with a euro 18D phone. Will changing the recall timer duration fix this? They have 5 POTS lines that are not centrex. My coworker actually put some sort of fabric or a piece of paper towel and taped it over the speaker. This fixed the problem but the guy does not want it taped to his phone. Could this be a bad processor? Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Have the customer mute the microphone via the "MIC/HFAI" button and see if that helps.

Well, back before '84, I'd tell him he's causing problems on the "NETWORK" and must slow down, or we will disconnect his service.
Funny, that doesn't seem to be an option anymore.
I would, however, suggest that the equipment does have speed limitations, after all, it does still connect to a very slow interface (THE CO) and slowing down may be his best bet.
AND-OR - Program a bunch of SPEED DIALS and let the robot do it for him.
Speaking of speed dials, I would have him observe how one works, and explain they work at that speed by design, for a good reason.

It will do it on speed dials too Jack.
Have them pick up the handset or hit the mute button.
Been there and done that.

Sorry for the long delay. Customer had verizon come in and move the line to a different pair. Same thing happens. I told them their boss needs to have a little patience and wait for dialtone. Thanks again for the responses.

That is why a dial pad is different from a calculater, when the old Bell phones went to a push button, the stinkin accountants were dialing too fast for the phone companies to receive the digits, so they changed the dial pad. Tell MR. Speedy Digits, to slow down
