Working on a Magix 4.0. Originally had a 408GS/LS MLX card in slot 1, 012 in slot two, and a 412 TDL in slot 3. Everything is just fine.

Remove the 012 and 480, moving the 412 to slot 1, and start up the system. Does a cold boot as usual, but the phones just sit there and blink their red lights. Can't get in on the console to do a board renumber. Tried the 408 in slot 1, 412 in slot 2. MLX phones do nothing, 4400's just blink.

Finally put it back in the original configuration...and it works fine.

What am I doing wrong here?

The programming port is the first multiline set, an MLX in your first configuration. In your 2nd, it is a TDL. It is not going to accept that!

If you really must have the TDL in the 1st slot, you may have to remove all cards, renumber through SPM, and perhaps force the board in through the boards function.

Since your extensions are going to be hosed anyway, (multiline ports with adjuncts and single line ports being moved all around), you may want to just default the system and start over.

And I'd be doing this frigid start via SPM, correct?

(no 355 adapter handy....I think I might still have a modem somewhere......

Yes, you're sorta stuck - you could do the frigid start from the console phone, but it would come back up the 408 in slot 1!

You could remove the processor, disconnect the super-cap for a while. Put it back into the carrier with the TDL in slot 1, and it should reboot and recognize the TDL card.
