I have a new customer with a Legend, phs are MLX type. I have looked at Avaya web site, training looks like it cost$$. To work on this, do I need software to program with a PC? Can I program with a phone? Do I need a password? and if yes, what is the password? OR, am I getting in over my head with this one, and I just need to walk away??

It's a steep learning curve, but ALL of the manuals are free on Avaya's support site. You can program from the Console phone, but it is probably easier and less disruptive to use a laptop and WinSPM software.

It all depends on what your customer wants you to do with their system.

you might pm some of the Avaya mods here and see if they can offer remote programing and you could do the hands on MAC type stuff on site

Had a local hack that also works on Partner systems. He thought he could take over a legend account of ours. Luckly I had a backup of the system, he had it so messed up in less than a hour. Stick with what you know. If It just uses POTs lines it shouldn't be that hard. With WinSPM you don't need an adapter, just dial in and transfer.
