HELP... I was sent to install a single 408 GS/LS-MLX card. Looked exactly like the existing cars in slot 01 and 02. Moved Merlin Messaging to slot 04 and installed the 408 GS/LS-MLX card into slot 03.
I started an SMP session and under inventory the cards in 01/02 come up as 408GLM-U and the newly installed card shows as 408 GS/LS-MLX and will not work. Cant even busy out the board.
Why do these cards look identicle? The working cards are vintage 11 and the non is vintage 4.
Am I doing something wrong or do I need to have them order the correct card???

Put it back the way it was, put the new card in the next available slot, and do a board renumber under System parameters.

Its best not to move the voicemail. TTT's suggestion is the way to go.

Thanks for the fast reply guys. I put it back the way it was just before I created the thread. Within the past few minutes I went ahead and added the non working 408 card in slot 04.
Started the board renumber under system>boardrenumber.
On display it read "system will be down do you want to continue". Selected yes and display read "busy press/dial 13" blah, blah, blah.

The system must go idle for the Board Renumber to complete. It will lock out any idle extensions, make them beep and display "Wait-System Busy", and as each phone in-use hangs up, it will lock them out as well. When everyone is off, it will do the board renumber and restart. The indication you are seeing is telling you who is on the phone, and whose connecting cord you need to unplug to knock them off!

Got it, what other programing do I need to do to get that non working 408 card to work? Should I just be able to plug a phone in and expect it to work?

Haaaa... nevermind my last post. After the board re-number that "non working 408" is now working! I guess those other existing 408's are newer Magix cards in older Legend plastic shells right???
Thanks again!
