Tried using Programming software V 8.0.0.4 on an ACS R3.0 PC modem direct to Ext.76. Call completes...handshake....no request for password...after 18 seconds, disconnect. Have tried multiple modem setting adjustments...no change. Using Dell Inspiron running XP, SP3. Any ideas? Meanwhile, what to change from key to hybrid....can't remember how on ACS. Want to make line group buttons on multiple 6D's....help appreciated!!!!! PS>>>>>Password is programmed!

Try a different modem, perhaps an external Sportster. This is the frustrating part of remote programming ACS's, which is why they added a serial Admin port on the R7 and R8.
For the Hybrid mode, see "Mode of Operation" #198 on page 4-50 (pg. 146/466 of the pdf.)

What Tommy says. It's all in what modem you use and most "win modems" won't work. I use an external US Robotics connected to the COM port and never have a problem.
