Hello,

I recently upgraded a partner Rel 7.0 to the new software with the 0 patch. It looked like the card worked and the software was installed. The main processor ext and lines are not working. The processor light is green. The 308 packs are working and show the new software rel installed? I have this in a test switch. I am not sure if the upgrade card is bad. If I buy a new card will it fix the processor I previously upgraded? any thoughts. Thanks

Mark

Upgrading to "O" should have no effect.
What do you get with just the R.7 powered up outside of the carrier?

Green light. No ext work. Looks like the processor might be bad. When placed in a carrier with the 308ec cards, all the ext with the 308 work and show the new software rel with the feature 59?

My question is where did you get the upgrade card?

A upgrade card should not cause this unless it was a bad upgrade card. Where did you get it?

The upgrade card was purchased through my normal avaya vendor. I think it is a bad flash card. returning it is no problem. when the replacement card is received will it correct the problem with this processor. The processor is not in service I pulled it and replaced it with a rel 8. I would like to try to salvage this card if possible, if not I can try to make it up from my vendor. Just wondering if this might even be possible. I have never had a processor not work but the 308ec cards work with the proper programming and showing the new software upgrade. It only is affecting the rel 7 card. To me this just seems wierd.

The only source to buy from should be Jenne or Catalyst. If you didnot buy from them then you are not an Avaya Business partner and have no business working on Avaya equipment.
Sorry Mark Thompson try to get your own sell to number.
Just my 2 cents.

Mike will correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I know the patches for both the ACS R6 and R7 never were available from Avaya pre-loaded on a flash card. You have to download them and copy them to your own card. This is why I asked my original question.

I suspect that you are not dealing with a legitimate Avaya dealer and not a BP yourself. There is plenty of this stuff being sold on ebay and other gray market illegitimate sources. This is the first time I have heard of an upgrade corrupting a processor and it should serve as a warning to any customer who is not dealing with an authorized Avaya Business Partner.
