I've got a Partner R7 that I'd like to interface to a Bogen MCP35A paging/amplification system. I'm getting lots of different answers from Bogen and others as to what exactly I need to accomplish this. A few have told me to simply connect the paging port of the ACS to the T/R on the Bogen device. The Bogen device does have inputs for Telco Page, but it's labeled TELCO PAGE & GND. The other jack for telco page is an rca-type jack.

Some (including Bogen) have said I need a TAMB to do the interfacing. A few others have said that I don't need this, but instead need a WMT1A transformer to interface.

Just wondering if anyone has interfaced to the Bogen before, and what would be the easiest way to do it. Many thanks for the help.

MCP35A Bogen doc

Make up a two pair cable with a 4 pin/6 pos plug to plug into the ACS page port. Pins 3&4 (W/Bl)is the audio and gets an RCA soldered on that gets plugged into the TELCO PAGE jack on the back of the MPC35A. Pins 3&5 (W/Or)is a dry contact that gets connected to the TELCO PAGE and GROUND screws. Doesn't matter which is ground.

You may need to use a Bogen WMT-1A 600 ohm to Hi Z transformer (if the audio isn't loud enough) between the ACS audio out and the TELCO PAGE in jack. (See page 5, figure 3.) In that case the transformer has screws on it's input and an RCA cable on it's output so you won't have to solder an RCA on the W/Bl pair. Just connect them to the screws and plug the tail into the jack on the back of the amp.

Hal, you forgot it is R7. Doesn't have Page port. Needs to Program CO as a Page port. Better CO 5.
