I have a calling group (group type = AutoLogout) with Hunt Type set to circular. The group operates as it should and goes to voice mail when no one is logged in or logged-in people are on phone. I would like to use a 'group ring' hunt type for the logged in members. When I make the change, all of the logged-in phones ring as they should but an unanswered call never goes to voice-mail.

What could I do to achieve the 'group-ring' for logged-in memebers and still get voicemail if unanswered?

Thank You in advance for any suggestions!

Yup, that's a weakness on Group Ring on Magix - no overflow unless everyone is logged out of the group.

So, you could try things like including a Single Line station that loops back to a CO port that has a Principal User that covers to voice mail.

Instead of Group Ring, send calls to an adjunct that has Primary Coverage on the group members.

Send the calls to a centrally located external ringer, and give the group members a pickup button for the ringer extension.

Just some thoughts....

Thank you for the response.

Would someone be able to tell me how to set the DID number (which somehow is currently mapped as a calling group 7920) to once again just act as an individual extension? I can than set-up voice mail and have others access from a pick up group?

If the DID number itself does not end in 7920, then there is a digit translation table that is converting it.

That's pretty deep to get into, finding and changing that routing.

It might be easiest to renumber calling group 7920 to "something else", then renumber an adjunct to 7920, covering it to voice mail, and finally adding Primary Coverage buttons to the phones that need to answer it.
