My current Merlin Legend is out of Digital ports, I need to add a cabinet. I have the cabinet and the Digital card. I want to know if the card needs to be a in a specific slot for the new cabinet and I need to know if the switch needs to be programmed to recognize that card.

Just power down system, attach new expansion cabinet, and install MLX card in first slot to the right of power supply card. When system comes back up, it should recognize the new card; but I like to do a board renumber just to be on the safe side.

May I add, back up your current programming to the PCMCIA card before you start, I've had stupid thing happen like a board renumber take out T1 programming!

TTT brings up a good point...also I forgot to mention when powering back up to turn on expansion carrier power first, then main cabinet.

Wow you guys are amazing that worked like a charm. Now I am reading the manual trying to program the phones to make outboud calls. I will try use the feature that gives you the option to copy extension (a working extension). Since I have pre programmed extensions that work.
