My customer moved into an office with a left in Partner ACS R5 phone system that has a Partner Voice Messaging PC Card. The card is a peachy color which I always thought was the SMALL version, although it doesn't say SMALL any where on the card. Are any of the software cards that work with the modules peach?

I am able to call in to the voice mail's system administration menu (mailbox "0", default 4-digit password), but I cannot access option 2 to find out how many mailboxes are configured (the menu doesn't even give me the prompt for option 2). Also, when the prompt is given for option 6, and I put in a mailbox number (1, 2, etc.) eventually I am told that I have made an incorrect entry.

Everything else works....is it possible that this voice mail PC card is partially bad? Since this thing was left in place from a prior tenant, is it also possible that the former vendor did something when setting up the voice mail to delete some of the system administrator's options? Have not run across this situation before. My experience with a bad card has been that nothing voice mail related works. Any suggestions or ideas......

If you can access the main menu, I would simply default the card and reprogram. That would be the "cleanest" approach.

If there is no option 2 then it's a small, try 01 ,02 and so forth for mail box's and see what happens, may be a R2 small.

As a rule you should default both the switch and the VM back to factory defaults and start with a clean system.

Mike and Russ: thank you both for your input. I did default the phone system, but haven't had to default the voice mail before and I'm not sure what the program code is to do that. Is it something you can post or can you PM me?

I would have to do it remote as we don't give out that kind of info and there is a small charge for it.
I'm sure it's a small ,,, have you tried using 01 02 03 04 for the mail box's. if it's a small it will only take you like 10 min to set it up for them without defaulting it.

I will be going back to the site tomorrow, so will try using 01 02 03 and 04 at that time.

You can call in and have them trans you to the vm or *7 when you call in and get the AA, you don't have to be there. It can all be done right over the phone.

I don't remember the colors but if it doesn't say small or large you have a R1. Waste no time tossing that into the dumpster. If you attempt to use it with a ACS R7 or R8 the entire system won't come up.
