We are getting on board with the ip office system. I have not yet been to bootcamp. I was curious about your experiences with the system. High point and things to watch out for. If this has been posted before, sorry about that .

Keep an open mind. It is different that most everything else. Get the demo system - they're a steal. Mike

We have had very good luck with the IPO, Shawn. We still have several of the 403's out there.
The only low points I can come up with off the top of my head is that I'm not real impressed with this new Partner emulation that suppose to be in release 6, wish Avaya would come out with a true up-grade path from Partner to IPO and I wish they would increase the size capacity of the system.

Michael Avaya already came up with release 6. IP Office 500r2v6 supports up to 18 Partner phones. No VOIP capability though. Just my 2 cents.

It was my understanding that the Partner emulation release 6 wouldn't be available until mid-March. I could be wrong I guess.
We don't plan on selling the Partner version anyway.

No, R6 was GA last Friday. The IP500v2 is available, but the new 1400 digital phones (Thata work with Partner version as well) wont be available until mid April i think.
I wish they would have made the ETR card with the availability of the card migrating to the IP Office releases....but no.
With the release of R6 Avaya is also changing the Service support as well. This I have a problem with....Dear avaya business partner, thank you for keeping up with your product authorizations and certifications. As a thank you for that, we will ask you to give us $2500 for a 5 hour block of time, JUST IN CASE you have a ticket go up to TierIII. We appreciate that you spend countless hours reading our complicated web site to keep up on the plethora of features, so much so that we will make that 5 hour block of time, DISAPPEAR if not used up in a 24 month period. Respectfully yours, MR. Avaya. P.s...Please enjoy the sample jar of Vaseline we have enclosed......
But seriously, I see what they are trying to do. They are trying to weed out the people calling in and asking their distributor how to program a button. But to have the block of time have a 24 month shelf life??? Come on.... So If I don't but the time, and I have a Partner system go to TierIII because it is an early release and needs the upgrade......I cant ??? Then why be a business Partner??? P. I. T. A.
Sorry, didn't mean this to be an "Ed rant"

Ed. The Service Support is optional. If you dont need it dont use it. And it will only apply to enterprise level of service calls to Avaya. This is for the issues to companies who's maintanance contracts are $50000+ yearly. I think in the next major release Partner mode will be VOIP capable.

Partner Mode is neet Michael. You can use your twinnings, manage it through Manager application. Use full T1. Phone managers, etc will work- according to Avaya

Correct, it is an optional service. BUT, as I understand it, you cant get a ticket opened to Tier III unless you have purchased time. So even if I have a problem and can reference a CQ problem, I can not get the custom build, because I cant even open the ticket.

The only thing that I have been frustrated with so far is that the demo kit came with no documentation or disks with software for programming. I don't want to spend my time on their site downloading manager, I want to play with my new toys.
