I have a customer with a magix R4. I set up ext 399 to be forwarded to an external number. At the other end of the external number is a cisco voip system. The call rings on the cisco 5 times then gets forwarded back to the magix if nobody picks up. Ext. 399 is a primary coverage button on a 4412D phone. It rings on that set 6 times before it goes to a mailbox. That means if nobody picks up at either site the total number of rings before voicemail is 11. The customer wants it to ring 2 or 3 times before voicemail in the magix. I've dropped the amount of rings for ext 399 in ext- cover delay- primary, secondary, and group cover. Is there another ring option setting I'm missing? I've also checked the magix feature reference a few times to try to figure it out. I must be missing something. Thanks for the help. Brian

399 can't be forwarded to an external number AND ring on a primary coverage button at the same time - that call coming back from the cisco must be forwarding to another number on the Magix. Are you looking at the coverage delay for the right station?

Your right TTT. Sorry. The call is forwarded from the cisco to a different DID which is ext. 611. That is the primary coverage button. I renunbered an adjunct to make this ext a mailbox only ext. This ext. Has no phone associated with it. Primary, secondary, and group cover delay are all set to 2. Thanks for the help. Brian

What happens if you just dial Ext. 611 from an internal phone?

When dialed internally Ext 611 rings about 6 times then goes to voicemail. I'm thinking about deleting what I did and starting over. I'll be back at the site on friday morning. Thanks again for the help. Brian

Yeah, but do a print of Ext. 611, and double check if it has secondary coverage somewhere else that you're not aware of, that may be delaying the group coverage. Remember it must exhaust all the primary and secondary coverage points before group coverage will kick in.

TTT, I checked ext 611's print. It's only Primary coverage is on ext 625. I made all the cover delays 1. They were previously set for 2. When I tested it now rings 3 times and then goes to voicemail. This is what they want. Thanks for help, Brian
