Hi,

I'm only barely familiar with Audix. My employer has an Intuity Audix machine. I logged in as SA at the terminal. I wanted to check the backup logs. I chose an option for customer/admin, then I believe backup/restore, then logs, then chose the default (1) option labeled with yesterday's date.

Instead of outputting a logfile it seems like this started an attended backup. Output:

Command is: /mtce/bin/ve_backup/ System Data AUDIX-Announcements AUDIX-Names Greetings-and-Messages
backup started

then a mountpoint table that I don't want to type unless necessary cuz it's freaking long

calculating total size for the backup
please wait

The total backup size is 59MB
You would need:
1 525 MB cartridge tape(s) or
1 2 GB cartridge tape(s)

tape 1 pre-process started

:

with a cursor blinking after the colon.

I expected it might ask me to input a backup medium somewhere but it's just sitting there. ctrl-c, F6 do nothing. All keyed input results in a beep from the machine.

I'm actually not even sure where I'd stick a tape on this thing as it's got a 3.5" floppy slot and drive up top with a constant green light on it and a button - maybe cdrom?

Any help or pointers here would be appreciated, thanks!

That's where the tape drive is located...and your right it's doing a backup and it will take awhile...but no harm done...just a long wait !!!!

If you press that little button the door will open and out will pop the tape !!
If it's setup normal it does a backup every night anyway..you can check the logs to see....

Any time you having trouble you can hit the Delete button and it should stop anything you have started. Go and check the log today. Also if you open the tape drive door it will stop any backup that mite be running.
