I just can't seem to get the damn thing working and there isn't a step by step guide for installing a B179 on an IPO.
After many different attempts, I'm asking for help...
The phone does connect to the LAN - I can ping the IP from System Status. However, monitor doesn't show any requests from the phone to register and the SIP Phone Status shows nothing.
If anyone has succesfully installed one of these on an IPO, I would really appreciate if you could send a PM or reply to this post with what settings you used.
Hell, I'll even pay for a document or your time if I can get it working...
Thanks

LAN1 VOIP Tab CHeck "enable SIP registrar" LAN! SIP REGISTRAR TAB Tick "Auto-Create Extn/User" Leave DOmain empty Layer 4 should be TCP and UDP - both using 5060
In the extension tab of that user, tick ONLY RE-INVTIE SUPPORTED Put in an IP address of the phone.
In the users tab, enter the name and give a password.
You can browse to the phones IP or go through the phone itself In SETTINGS>SIP Enable account 1 give the account name (Arbitrary) in the user field put the extension number in In the registrar field, put the LAN1 IP address in. In the Realm field just put a star (*) In Auth name Put the users name you created (case sensitive) Put the password in. Registry interval, should be 100
I think everything else is default. I am on the way out, will check back tonight.

Thanks. I'll give your instructions a whirl. Based on your info, I had a couple of entries in the B179 reversed and one in the IPO different. Since the IPO requires a reboot, I won't be able to try this until tonight. Fingers crossed...

Well, that didn't work. But I dicked around with so many changes, the B179 may be configured incorrectly (I played with other settings beside what was listed). So I defaulted the phone, but now I need to go on-site to reconfigure the phone for the clients LAN tomorrow afternoon... I sure hope this works. The client is losing patience with me and Catalyst has not been able to help either.

I'm sure you already know this,..... but do you have the license you need and the IP routes correct?
If you can't get it working, we can offer tech support. But we do charge for remote help.

Yes, i have the correct licenses. IP Routes? The docs (as skimpy as they are) didn't mention anything about IP routes.
This phone is on the same LAN as the IPO. If this were a straight IP set, it would be a no brainer, but SIP has always proved troublesome. (Not that I have a great deal of experience with it - just 3 systems. Two with SIP Trunks, not sets.) But anyway, please PM your contact info as I may take you up on the offer. Please include contact Hours as I'm in So. Cal. Thanks

Remember, SIP is a common language. Hi, who are you, I am a B179, here is my authentication.
You can clear all filters in SYSmon, and select ONLY the SIP info, and see where this is failing....

One lesson learned on B179 was to use only numeric username/password. Fired one up yesterday and worked like a champ. Once you have it working on the network, access via browser for easier access to programming.
