We have a Mitel 3300 and we want to connect it with an Asterisk IP-PBX server, we have several questions:
The first: is it possible? If yes, is there any documentation available? Witch material is needed in both Asterisk and Mitel PBX?

I believe the Mitel ICP 3300 doesn't report SIP until version 7 due in 2006.

At that point, it ought to be possible I would think to integrate a Mitel ICP 3300 with Asterisk via SIP/IP.

In the meantime, I believe the Mitel uses proprietary Minet protocols which I don't think Asterisk supports.

Many of the Mitel phone handsets, eg 5215 or 5220 can be used in SIP or Minet modes, but the ICP 3300 itself doesn't yet support SIP.

If i anderstand the communication betwen these two systems isn't possible at this time but it will be possible in the next year, do you have the exate date?

we have also an sx2000 is there a possibility to integrate it with an Asterisk box?

And thank you for your replay we dont found any information on the web.

Have anyone tried any other approaches to connectivity between Asterisk and the 3300 ICP? Looking at some of the other posts, it looks like it would be possible to tie them together using a dual T1 framer card in the 3300 and the TE110P card in the Asterisk server. Any suggestions here?

As for SIP support, does anyone know anything about the Applications and Services Gateway (ASG) that will be available soon with the 6.1 release? I know it is to provide SIP support for Microsoft Live Communications Server, but I would think it would be implemented as standard SIP.

Yes you can tie a sx2000 to an asterisk if you have the correct MFRD and have digital links available or optioned in your dim/fea selection .

Mitels web site is www.mitel.com . Once at their web page just enter your user id and login password . Click on knowledge base and search on product info 3300 . It will take you right where you want to be then print out the product release notes . Hope this helps .
