As mention in a couple other threads, I'm an end user (evil it guy) that's comparing a couple different phone systems proposed to us, and Mitel 3300 was one of them.
Anyone have any thoughts or opinions on it? We'd be doing an all IP endpoint install, using mostly 5340 phones. Out of the systems we're looking at we're considering this the cadillac of the bunch.
Any thoughts/opinions/gotchas on it? We're also looking at the teleworker option (encrypts remote phones).
TIA!
Jeff

Also should have mentioned - system will have approx 85-95 phones, 2 PRIs for trunks, voip network is seperate from the data network and is being provided and installed by the vendor (using Adtran POE switches).

excellent system a very good choice. One of the best true VOIP PBX's. But, what are the other systems you are comparing it too? Most others are probably cheaper because they are key systems and are not a true VOIP box. You get what you pay for. You want quality VOIP, where you cant tell the diff between voip and regular DT....then you have to pay for it. We have many installation just like you descibed. You don't have to separate the networks. The best way in my opinion is Layer 3 switches like the HP Procurve 2626POE, and setup VLAN's. less switches required, and the networks are separate. Only 1 network drop required per work station. The HP is a far superior switch and very easy to program and tech support is free. Enable IPRouting and your done. You have to add 3 options to your Windows DHCP server scope. 130,132, & 133. The Mitel teleworker is by far the best on the market.

Thanks - we're running HP Procurve 2824s now so I'm familiar with them - great switches!
Probably a dumb question but if we do keep the networks seperate - does the Mitel box provide DHCP for the phones?

I agree minus the Adtran switches you are on the right track. Yes the 3300 can provide DHCP.

Don't care for the Adtrans? I believe the HP poe switches were a LOT more in cost but I can check again.

SOOO...I double checked, and sure enough the HP's weren't to bad price wise. Had them switch the quote to all HP procurve POE switches.
