Stupid question, how do you take on a new customer and not know the equipment or have a manual? Just curious, not trying to be a jerk.

>TO MAKE CERTAIN PHONES HAVE IMEDIATE RING

Can you be a bit more specific about what you're trying to do? Are you trying to change the incoming ring group (phones that ring on an incomming call)?

Are you trying to make a phone that is currently on delayed ring (they only ring when a call is unanswered for a certain period of time) start rining immediately?

Give us a few more details, and we may be able to help. Explain what's happening now, what you want to happen, and general system information.

Also, what version of the software is the switch running? To find out, go off-hook on a display set and enter #*#* (press "hold" to exit)

Do you have the programming access code for the system? (don't post it here, just need to know if you have it).

Forgot to add: Typically it doesn't matter what port you program from.

Without the programming code, you may be in trouble. You could default the system, but then you loose any customizations they've done.

For the 28i and 124i, once you're in programming mode, everything is a 4 digit program code with "hold" as enter.

In general, you assign ports to ring groups in program 0909. (Beware, ring groups go by port, not extension number, press [check][call 1] on a display set to find port numbers)
0909 [hold]
Ring group num [hold]
Station port num [hold]
1 [hold] (to make a station ring)
0 [hold] (to make a station not ring)
At a prompt, press [hold] without entering any data to back out one level.

Then, you assign trunks to ring groups for each day/night mode with program 0910. In a typical setup, ring group 1 would be the phones that ring during the day, so you may not have to change this.

I hope this helps, but I offer no guarantees. The i-series are powerfull systems and there's a million ways to program everything. I'm making a lot of assumptions in this post. You're on your own, so don't complain if the system gets messed up.
