Hi all, searched but no luck... has anyone complied a list of 124i/384i compatible plug-n-play VM/AA alternatives to the NVM22? Ie., can anyone tell me if a Nitsuko-TIE System 4002 2-port VMX 100 is a plug-n-play option to replace a NVM22 2-port with a bad drive? Or... would it be feasible to swap power supplies from my old circa 2000 NVM22 (black metal case) to a newer (I think newer, has white plastic case) NVM22. If so, would I need to swap mother boards too? Alternatively, can I swap the hard drive from the newer unit into the old case? I really need to get this VM back up and running but original selling/install shop has gone under. I'm on my own here, and I don't much except the replacement costs are crazy-mad! Any help greatly appreciated, thank you.

Personally, I've never seen a plug and play VM solution for any Nitsuko system. Some configuration/integration will need to be done.
Swapping hardware around has it's issues. The hard drive is tied to the voice card by serial numbers, so replacing the drive won't work in most cases. (They do this to make sure you cannot just make a copy of the drive, throw in any compatible voice card, and build your own VM on the cheap.) I haven't dealt with an NVM since about 2001, but I don't recall ever seeing one in a black case. Perhaps the NVM in the black case is the newer version? Could be my memory is just hazy. Either way someone else will probably chime in with an answer on that.
I would post in the Request an Installer category to find someone who can help you get up and running, one way or another.

Thanks, the installer links were not productive so I'll give that Request a try. I realize a true plug-it-in-without-programming solution is probably asking way too much. Any idea if a NEC NVM-2e modular plug-in would be compatible with programming?

Chris, thank you very much, you've just doubled our potential fix-it options! This is exactly the info I was hoping to find, could there be even more? We can get by with a simpler VM than the Vanguard, we're not using nearly all the features. The telco's voice mail has proved good enough only for a temp band-aid until a new on-site solution is in place. Thanks again for the reply.

non of them are simple plug and play solutions they all require knowledge and training to install and configure properly
it would be wise to continue your search and find a qualified installer to help you out with this
