We recently had a power outage and power to the phone system was lost. Once the power came back on the phones were working for incoming and outgoing calls, but there are weird things happening. Here's the receptionist's description of the problems:
"The phones are always on break now, it rings throughout the office, I can tell what line people are using but it doesn’t allow me to see who is on the phone, it makes a weird noise all day long, at night I am assuming it still automatically get puts on night, the button’s don’t light up anymore, when I transferred someone to voicemail, they called back and said that they didn’t get anywhere, and the voicemail button doesn’t work, nor does is light up also."
I have no documentation for this system and very little experience with it. I only have step by step instructions on how to change the date and time.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix these issues?
Thanks.

First off, are the time, date, extension name correct? Are the keys still programmed correctly, namely, can you still intercom someone by pressing their DSS key?. Even if this is correct, it could still mean the program is corrupt at the very least. At worst, you could have some hardware issues as a result of the outage. A simple reset might clear things up. If not, I wouldn't hesitate to get your tech in their to look at it. This isn't something for a do it yourself er.

The receptionist said yes, the date and time are correct and she can still intercom people by hitting their extension buttons.
However, hitting the Break/Day/Night buttons doesn't do anything.
As far as a "simple reset", how would I go about doing that? And would we lose any settings?

power the system down for a few minutes then power it back up if the memory battery is bad then yes you could lose additional settings
If you need a installer click the link at the top of the page here .
