I have a customer who wanted restrictions on long distance. I set up restriction filters on the lines and the sets and set up COS passwords. It tested good. Got a call a few days after I set all this up and my customer now says that they can dial 9 (line pool access)#1XXXXXXXXXX and the calls go thru. Anyone ever heard of this happening before? I am not sure how this is happening.I did find a way to block it but does anyone have any suggestions of how this is being allowed?
Customer has a 0X32 with T1.
Thanks
B.

Got to thinking about your question. Have you tried it from their location?

Their location is where we discovered the problem. I have other locations with T1 that we are going to see if we can "cheat" with the 9#. I can't find anything in the programming that is allowing this and I cant duplicate it with ISDN, so just have to keep digging.
Thanks for the thought.

Norstar? Did you disable the "External Code" in "Configuration-Miscellaneous-External Code"? It defaults to <9> to grab one of the "Public" trunks. I'm "reading between the lines" that <9x> or <9xx> is what you set for trunk group access codes, and guessing that <9#> may be grabbing the first available Public trunk, which you probably intended to be incoming-only, and didn't set any dialing restrictions on them. Just taking a wild guess.
